Virtual Lawmaking and Citizen Advocacy in 2021

Launching our Older Coloradans Week will be Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera. The LG will join us during the opening of the Monday, February 8th Webinar.

When it comes to public policy, the policymakers can’t know what their constituents want if we don’t speak up. But what are the most effective ways to do that, especially during a pandemic? CSL Board members Jeanette Hensley and Rich Mauro, along with Kelli Fritts, Associate State Director – Advocate for AARP Colorado will engage participants with lessons learned from the past year and a preview of the upcoming year in this interactive webinar.

Voices on Aging

This webinar features presentations by representatives of diverse and rural communities across the state who will highlight their efforts for serving older adults and the issues that are unique to the wellbeing of older adults in their communities. Following these presentations, legislators attending the webinar will have the opportunity to share their involvement with public policies affecting older adults in Colorado and their perspectives on the issues raised by the community representatives. Finally, there will be a facilitated conversation utilizing the Zoom Q&A feature which will enable webinar participants to pose questions to the presenters and the legislators. This promises to be an engaging exchange for participants and presenters alike.
