The Colorado Senior Lobby is a member of a coalition that has supported efforts in the Colorado legislature to create a publicly available retirement plan that would be available to workers at employers that don’t offer a retirement plan. As part of that coalition, CSL supported SB19-173, which created the Colorado Secure Savings Plan Board, which is studying the issue and will recommend a retirement savings plan that could be introduced in the 2020 legislative session.
The coalition is looking for older adults to help with advocacy for this issue.
The coalition is looking for volunteers willing to tell their stories about retirement security (particularly financial challenges faced from a lack of retirement resources). They are also looking for people to write (or at least sign) letters to the editor or opinion pieces for the newspaper.
If you are interested, please respond to this email – legcom@ColoradoSeniorLobby.org and we will put you in touch with the appropriate people who will help you with the process.
Signed, CSL Legislative Committee Co-Chairs
Jeanette Hensley and Rich Mauro
