The purpose of the meeting was to highlight the real impact of prescription drug costs and how they impact “real people”. The Summit Information Services staff was very attentive taking detailed notes of the discussion. The stories shared detailed the hardship the average person faces when confronted with decisions on the allocation of very limited financial resources in regard to the rising costs of prescription medicine. It was also noted that the cost to the individual is small in comparison to the cost paid by insurance providers, including Medicare and Medicaid.

The effectiveness of the meeting, along with all the other interfaces with the Senator and/or his staff will be measured when he records his votes on health care legislation.

WE RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE SHOULD CONTINUE TO CONTACT THEIR STATE AND FEDERAL SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES TO LET THEM KNOW YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT DRUG PRICING AND HEALTH CARE REFORM.
